Nissan Gtr V Spec 1993
1993 NISSAN SKYLINE GTR (R32) V-SPEC
KEY FACTS
- A highly original example of a modern performance icon, in rare V-Spec guise with subtle performance modifications.
- Power comes from the twin-turbocharged RB26DETT 2.6-litre straight-six, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission with four-wheel drive.
- Imported to the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in May 2005, this Skyline has had three prior UK keepers following its early life in Japan.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- Just 1,396 examples of the V-Spec GT-R were built, and this Skyline is one of only 303 cars that left the factory in Gun Grey Metallic paintwork.
- Standard equipment for the V-Spec included Brembo front and rear brakes, BBS alloy wheels, larger tyres, and a re-tuned ATTESA E-TS four-wheel drive system.
- This car was specified with full automatic climate control.
- Remaining largely original, the only known modifications are an aftermarket cat-back sports exhaust, which appears to be a Kakimoto Racing system, a Turbo timer and boost controller, and Tein coil springs. The cabin has also been fitted with a face-off JVC head unit.
- The correct 17-inch BBS cross-spoke alloy wheels are present, fitted with Toyo Proxes tyres.
- The front bumper was modified in 2005 with Nismo style vents, and then resprayed.
- A dynamometer report from 2010 shows a maximum 404.6hp at the flywheel.
- Accompanying the car is the original Japanese service book with documented history, the 'Cancellation of Registration' certificate from Japan, and several invoices for maintenance and upgrades since arriving in the UK in 2005. This includes work from Abbey Motorsport, Newera Developments, and RK Tuning.
CONDITION
- There is no known bodywork damage, other than very minor pin dents that were rectified in 2006.
- Its Gun Grey Metallic paintwork is thought to be original, apart from the aforementioned front bumper, and the vendor notes very minor blemishes on the front commensurate with the age and mileage, as well as light marks around the intercooler.
- Likewise, all of the interior upholstery is believed to be the factory trim. There is slight wear to the driver's seat back at the base, but overall the cabin looks to be in great shape for its age.
- There are no known electrical faults.
- The most recent MOT test was on 9 April 2021 at 159,780 km (incorrectly recorded as miles), when it achieved a clean, first-time pass.
SERVICE HISTORY
- Its last maintenance was in July 2019 at 158,454km, which was a full timing belt replacement service at Wye Motors Limited.
- The car also had an oil service in October 2018 at 158,269km, and has been regularly maintained since arriving in the UK.
- Invoices in the history file show that the car had a gearbox rebuild in December 2005 at approximately 125,000km.
- The vendor also notes that the air-conditioning condenser has been replaced, and the system has been upgraded to run on modern refrigerant. It has also received a recent G-sensor replacement from RK Tuning.
- In 2006, Newera Developments carried out a complete Waxoyl application to the underbody, and also fixed minor pin dents to the offside rear quarter and nearside door.
SUMMARY
This Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec is a rare and sought-after version of the R32 model, which continues to find fans down the generations, not least because of its appearance in numerous video games. While these cars are often used as the basis for extensive visual and mechanical modification, this car remains remarkably original, and represents a great opportunity for a collector of modern classics or any fan of JDM car culture.
